2005 PORSCHE 911 Turbo S

At the end of the 996 chassis run, engineers wanted to do something very special to mark the close of the first completely water-cooled 911s.  They approached upper management and suggested a very short run of an "S" Turbo Coupe.  Thus, the little known and very limited run of only six hundred 2005 911 Turbo S Coupes was created.


This is NOT to be confused with the run of 2005 Turbo S Cabriolets, which there were many.  The Coupes were exceedingly rare with a reported 185 coming to the United States in 2005, and only 600 produced worldwide.  


The Turbo S package included: upgraded engine performance from 415hp to 450; carbon ceramic braking system standard; factory sport seats; 6 speed manual gearbox; upgraded front/rear shocks and struts; larger front/rear sway bars; special GT3-style 18" forged rims; GT3 steering wheel; a special stainless steel exhaust; and TurboS badging.  


#264 is one of the extremely rare Cobalt Metallic Blue coupes ever produced.  Supposedly, there were only 15 of these coupes made in this color.  It is complemented by a Graphite Grey full leather interior.  Further optioned with:  heated front seats, 3 spoke steering wheel in leather, Porsche crest in headrest, aluminum/leather shifter/brake handle, custom tailoring, graphite grey floor mats, rear console painted exterior color, sport seats painted exterior color, and storage lid with Porsche crest, the original MSRP on the car was $144,270 in 2005!!


These cars are absolutely on a different planet from the standard Turbo.  Although they indicate only 10% more power, their 0-60 times of 4.0 seconds is astonishing.  Pulling with all-wheel-drive at almost any engine speed, the Turbo S is a blast to drive!  It is balanced, easy to drive very fast, and with its upgraded suspension/brakes, always in control.  


Effortless acceleration would be the term I'd use to describe this car!
